Just wanted to say - THAT'S MORE LIKE IT!
Just wanted to say, I really enjoyed this evening's Doctor Who. Emotion, fear, connection, tension, things to think about - everything that's been missing from so many of Eleven's episodes.

And Nine's Control Room!!!!! YESSSSS! That was truly a wonderful moment. I loved that man so much.

Oh well, you can't please everybody! (Maybe we'll see that one some other time). I didn't really watch Doctor Who much as a kid, I just saw a few eps because my little brother was watching, but I switched on Rose because I thought my kids might enjoy it - and fell head-over-heels in love with Nine. He will always be my Doctor.

Interestingly, we were told in that episode (1) that he's "only changed the desktop about a dozen times" while she has records of thirty iirc, and (2) individual Time Lords can change gender. Although that may not be news to people who know more Classic Who than I do?

I think that was the first time they've *confirmed* that they can change gender (although Romana once briefly changed species appearance IIRC)

I watched this episode because I had the ironing to do and thought it would help pass the time. It was excellent - really glad I've seen it. Ironing took about twice as long as usual though! Proper Doctor Who.

Oh, good! I won't be watching the current series until it comes out on DVD, but I'm happy to hear that there are GOOD episodes!

We got so much Old-Skool love, I was delirious. Room-jettisoning, cloister bell, Eye of Orion (it's the negative ions, just like Earth after a rain storm.)

Flaily-hands of love!

I barely know Old Who at all, and I'm really not bothered about it, so long as Moffat keeps the nods to old times from rendering things incomprehensible to the rest of us. I haven't found it a problem so far, luckily, but I can imagine that it adds a certain richness for people who know the old stuff!

Oh, I suspect those were all GNeil. He's such a fanboi. I was surprised he wasn't smoking a cigarette at the end of the Confidential... *grins*

I really ought to remember to watch the Confidential occasionally. We get to the end of the episode, then we turn the telly off and everyone goes off to do whatever. If and when we ever get digital channels on the actual telly it'll be easier to remember, I suppose.

I'd given up on the Confidentials a few years back b/c they were so horridly self-congratulatory, far more back-patting than behind-the-scenes (I love the tech; sue me.) But other flisters had squeed about this particular one b/c of GNeil, so I watched it. He was adorable.
